Now, three of the four variants of the petrol Baleno are sold with a CVT automatic gearbox as an option

The fully loaded petrol Alpha trim of its Baleno now features a Continuous Variable Transmission (CVT) automatic gearbox and is priced at ₹8.34 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Only the lower Delta trim offered the CVT gearbox when the car was first launched. In April 2016, Maruti introduced it on the higher Zeta variant and now, only the base Sigma trim isn’t available as an automatic.

The Alpha variant features projector headlamps, reverse camera and SmartPlay infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and MirrorLink, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and gear knob, automatic headlamps, alloy wheels, keyless entry and go with push-button start.

The company has sold over 2,00,000 units of the Baleno so far and the share of automatic gearbox-equipped models in its fleet has risen to 11 percent in 2016-17 from 6 percent in 2014-15.
