Benelli Leoncino 500 BS6 will be offered in two colour options - Steel Grey and Leoncino Red

Benelli India has introduced the BS6 version of its Leoncino 500 at a starting price of Rs 4.60 lakh (ex-showroom). The price of the motorcycle goes as high as Rs 4.70 lakh (ex-showroom) for Leoncino Red color. Talking about the colour options, the BS6 Leoncino is offered in two colours - Steel Grey and Leoncino Red. Interested buyers can book the bike at a token amount of Rs 10,000 either by directly visiting the website or by going to the nearest Benelli India dealership. Benelli is also offering a 3-year unlimited kilometer warranty as standard with the 500cc motorcycle.

In terms of design, the BS6 Leoncino 500 is inspired by the ‘Lion Club’ models of the 60s. It has not received any cosmetic upgrades. The two-wheeler continues to feature the same neo-retro theme with an all-LED headlamp, LED turn-indicators, and LED tail-lamp. The front fender provides the signature ornament - the Lion of Pisaro. Furthermore, the bike retains the twin-pod asymmetrical instrument cluster from the last-gen motorcycle.

“The Leoncino 500 has been very special to us at Benelli as it combines tradition and passion with contemporary design, innovation and performance. The Leoncino 500 is a tribute to the original model, which is a legend of Italian motorcycling that largely contributed to the history of the brand. We are happy to bring back the Leoncino 500 in its BS6 avatar. I am also glad to share that there has been no drop in power and torque figures of the Leoncino 500, in its transition to BS6 compliance. Hence, I am confident that it will continue to deliver the same excitement and rush that was delivered by the BS4 offering on sale earlier,” commented Vikas Jhabakh, Managing Director, Benelli India at the time of this introduction.

Performance-wise, the new Benelli Leoncino 500 is powered by a 500cc, DOHC, twin-cylinder four-stroke, liquid-cooled engine that churns out 47.5 bhp power @8500 rpm and 46 Nm peak torque @6000 rpm. The 8-valve motor is mated to a 6-speed gearbox.

The bike sits on a steel trellis frame. Suspension duties are taken care of by an upside-down 50mm fork upfront and a laterally mounted, rebound, and pre-load adjustable shock absorber towards the rear. In terms of brakes, the bike gets radially mounted 4-piston brake calipers gripping 320mm discs in the front and a single-piston floating caliper with a 260mm disc coupled with dual-channel Switchable ABS towards the rear.
