The company’s fifth model will be an electric sports car that’s set to debut in 2019.

The carmaker will show its first all-electric sports car by 2019. The all-electric vehicle is the fifth car in the British manufacturer’s range and it will be positioned below the Bentayga.

Bentley boss Wolfgang Durheimer stated earlier that the fifth model could have either been an SUV or a two-seater electric sports car that’s based on the EXP12 Speed 6e concept, which was shown at the Geneva motor show.

At Frankfurt, Durheimer confirmed plans for the electric sports car and stated, “What I can say is that a small SUV is no longer on the scheme. We’re favouring a car with a full electric powertrain. What I can say is that a small SUV is no longer on the scheme. We’re favouring a car with a full electric powertrain. We intend to be the leader in electrification in the luxury segment. We see that it fits into the Bentley scheme – low rev torque with seamless acceleration.”

Dürheimer also confirmed that the company is readying three plug-in hybrid models in its line-up - the Bentayga V6 plug-in hybrid, the Continental and the Flying Spur.
