BMW 220i M Sport Black Shadow Edition Launched at Rs 43.50 Lakhs

The BMW 220i M Sport Black Shadow Edition will be locally produced at the BMW Group Plant in Chennai

BMW Group India launched the 220i Black Shadow edition in the country today. The limited-edition model will be available at Rs 43.50 lakhs (ex-showroom). It will be locally produced at the BMW Group Plant in Chennai. Interested buyers can book the vehicle at shop.bmw.in from today onwards. The new 2 Series Gran Coupe ‘Black Shadow’ edition will be limited to only 24 units. Besides that, it will be offered in the M Sport design scheme. The first 24 customers get the opportunity to avail of the special ‘Black Shadow’ edition kit.


Cosmetically, the new BMW 220i Black Shadow edition features high-gloss black mesh-style M grille upfront. On the sides, the limited edition model is seen flaunting 18-inch M-performance Y-spoke styling 554 M forged wheels in jet black matt and black mirror caps. Towards the rear end of the vehicle, we get a BMW M-performance spoiler in a high gloss black and black chrome tailpipe. Furthermore, the BMW floating hub cap features the BMW logo. In terms of color options, the car is offered in  Alpine White (non-metallic) and Black Sapphire (metallic). 

Moving inside the cabin of the BMW 220i Black Shadow edition, it gets a driver-focused cockpit and a large panoramic sunroof. The cabin further boasts of sport seats with electrical memory functions. The limited-edition model comes equipped with a host of BMW Connected Drive technologies. Talking about the BMW Live Cockpit Professional, it includes a 10.25-inch digital instrument display, a 3D navigation, and a 10.25-inch control display. Besides this, the passengers get the liberty to operate a plethora of functions simply by speaking to BMW Virtual Assistant. The car gets the BMW Gesture Control feature that recognizes six pre-defined hand movements. Other feature highlights include a parking assistant with a rearview camera, reversing assistant, and Apple Car Play & Android Auto connectivity. The safety kit comprises six airbags, ARB technology (actuator contiguous wheel slip limitation system), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Brake Assist, Cornering Brake Control (CBC), Attentiveness Assistance, side-impact protection, Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) including Dynamic Traction Control (DTC) & Electronic Differential Lock Control (EDLC), electronic vehicle immobilizer, ISOFIX child seat mounting, crash sensors, and integrated emergency spare wheel under the load floor.

Performance-wise, the new 220i Black Shadow edition is powered by 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine that churns out a top power of 189 bhp and a peak torque of 280 Nm. The motor is further mated to a seven-speed Steptronic sport automatic gearbox that further comes with shift paddles on the steering wheel. The limited-edition model can accelerate from 0-100 kmph in just 7.1 seconds. Besides these, the 220i Black Shadow edition is available with a BMW 360 degree financial plan at an all-inclusive monthly payment of Rs 50,999. It further comes with assured buy-back up to four years along with flexible term-end options.
