BMW Launches Latest Gen Model of 3-Series in India; Prices at Rs. 41.4 Lakhs

BMW 3-Series 7th Generation Model Launched in Indian Market

Famed German maker BMW has updated their entry level 3-Series sedan line-up in the Indian market. The updated model the sedan is the 7th gen model of the car and the price for the updated model of the famed entry level sedan has been set at Rs. 41.4 lakh for the base model. The maker sells the sedan in a total of 3 trims in the Indian market. Out of these 2 are diesel variants and there is one petrol engine option. Here are the prices of the difference trims of the 3-Series in the Indian market.

BMW 3-Series 320d Sport – Rs. 41.4 lakhs

BMW 3-Series Luxury Line -- Rs. 46.9 lakhs

BMW 3-Series 330i M Sport – Rs. 47.9 lakhs

As has been the case with all the recently updated models of the German maker, the latest generation model of the BMW 3-Series has the underpinnings of the new Cluster Architecture or CLAR platform. While there are significant changes in the generation update model of the 3-Series the overall silhouette of the sedan has not changed all that much. Despite the increase in the size when compared to the older generation model, the 3-Series still has managed to shed a large weight of 55kgs. This is largely due to the usage of the new CLAR platform of the brand and this loss in weight will result in better performance as well as higher mileage figures.

The style changes on the latest generation model of the 3-Series are very apparent the moment one takes one look at the sedan. Gone are the traditional corona rings of the headlamps and the rear, instead this has now been replaced with L-shaped DRLs at the front and L-shaped rear tail lamps. Although the L-shaped lamps at the rear are slightly different in design when compared to the front DRLs. 

There are a lot of changes inside the cabin of the new 3-Series as well and this includes the overall revamps of the layout of the dashboard of the car which makes it look more intuitive and easy to access. The space inside the cabin has gone up as compared to the older generation model. The rear seats come with a 40:20:40 split seat as standard across the variants. This allows greater flexibility and makes the car much more practical. Talking of the features on offer on the latest model of the new 3 Series there is an 8.8-inch infotainment system which can be upgraded to a bigger 10.25-inch screen as well. The infotainment system gets the iDrive system, which consists of a rotary dial, touchscreen, gesture control and voice commands. The fully-loaded version comes with the digital instrument cluster, three-zone climate control system, ambient lighting system, electric sunroof, front and rear parking sensors and a rear parking camera. The top variant also gets full LED headlamps and tail lamps, which makes the sedan look magnificent, especially at night.

Coming to the mechanical aspect of the 3-Series sedan, the diesel option is a 2L unit that is rated to deliver 190 Bhp and 400 Nm. Whereas the petrol version is a 2L unit rated to deliver 258 Bhp and 400 Nm.
