The third-gen X3 gets a petrol engine in only one, fully-loaded variant.

The new BMW X3 was initially launched with only a diesel engine but it now gets a petrol engine option as well. This version is powered by a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder turbo-petrol (that also does duty in the 3- and 5-series) and this engine makes 252hp and 350Nm. Power is channelled via an eight-speed automatic gearbox and the car gets the company’s xDrive all-wheel-drive system. BMW says this car can hit 100kph in 6.3sec.

Unlike the xDrive20d, which you can get in a lower 'Expedition' trim, the xDrive30i is only available in a single, fully-loaded Luxury Line trim, priced at Rs 56.90 lakh (ex-showroom, India).
