The German luxury automobile brand BMW has revealed the new-generation BMW X2. Over the years, BMW has been revealing spy shots of the second-generation X2, and now the brand has finally revealed this new variant. The new-generation BMW X2 gets two powertrain choices, new styling, and advanced technologies. The X2 will be launched later, after its much-awaited public reveal, at the forthcoming Japan Motor Show going to happen in Tokyo.

The styling of the BMW X2 is disparate from its earlier iteration. The X2 includes a coupe-like roofline that glides smoothly into the back. In comparison to its precursor, the X2 has a fierce, bold visual look. The X2 is equipped with advanced taillights and LED headlamps. When it comes to design elements, the illuminated kidney grille is what makes the BMW X2 disparate from the X1. Among the other compact crossovers presented by BMW, the BMW X2 is the first one to be fully equipped with alternative 21-inch wheels.

At the side profile, there are minimal dynamic lines that give the X2 a clear surface. The aerodynamic efficiency of the car is enhanced by the door handles that are integrated with the body. BMW stated that the X2 is better than the outgoing model, as it has gotten larger from 7.6 inches in length to 179.8 inches, and its wheelbase is also 09 inches longer.

The new-generation BMW X2 provides more space for the occupants. The X2 gets a BMW iDrive 9, and more focus is given to voice and touch control via the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant and BMW Curved Display. The BMW curved display includes a 10.7-inch touchscreen infotainment display and a 10.25-inch instrument cluster in a sole glass panel. The BMW X2 gets new inside features like a cabin-facing camera that can record videos and click pictures.

The BMW X2 is powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine invigorating the X2 xDrive28i. This engine is the base version, and it can generate up to 237 bhp of peak power and 400 Nm of peak torque. In just 6.2 seconds, it can be driven to 0-96 kmph. From a standstill position, the engine is proficient at moving the car to 96 kmph. Both the X2 and X1 get a 7-speed double-clutch transmission.
