The German Car manufacturer BMW is all set to digitally conduct the launch of two new cars namely the 8 Series Gran Coupe and the M8 Competiton in India. The online launch is expected to take place before the lockdown is lifted. Once the price of both the BMW M8 and 8 Series Gran Coupe are officially revealed, then the interested customers can purchase the newly launched cars via BMW Contactless Experience. Recently, the brand launched its online retail platform-BMW Contactless Experience. A few BMW dealers are already in talks with prospective buyers. In some cases, they have even started taking provisional bookings. Both models going to be launched are from BMW’s flagship 8 Series range.
The new BMW 8 Series Gran Coupe is a 4-door derivative of the 8 Series. The company is expected to introduce the 840i variant of the car, it is likely to be priced at Rs 1.4 crore (ex-showroom). Mechanically, BMW 8 Series Gran Coupe will be powered by a 3.0-litre, six-cylinder, twin-turbo petrol engine. The engine produces 335 bhp of power output with 500 Nm of peak torque. Transmission duties will be carried by an 8-speed automatic gearbox.
While BMW M8 Competition is a high-performance version of the regular 8 Series. It will be far more expensive with an expected starting price tag of Rs 2.3 crore (ex-showroom). The two-door coupe sources power from a 4.4-litre, V-8 engine that produces 625 bhp power and 750 Nm torque. This engine comes mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox with an all-wheel-drive system.
