The German manufacturer, BMW has launched the petrol variant of X1. The X1 petrol will be available only in sDrive20i xLine trim. Powering the car is a BS VI compliant, 1998cc turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine which is mated to a 7-speed Steptronic automatic double clutch transmission that generates 192 HP and 280 Nm of torque. The car accelerates from 0-100 km/hr in 7.6 seconds and the top speed is 224 km/hr.
The car comes with Servotronic speed-sensitive steering which allows easy parking and city manoeuvres. The steering weighs up with an increase in speed. On the safety front, the car has six airbags, Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) with brake assist, Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) with Dynamic Traction Control (DTC), Cornering Brake Control (CBC), Hill Descent Control (HDC), Side-impact Protection, Run-flat tyres with reinforced sidewalls, electronic vehicle immobiliser and crash sensors.
The seat covers are of premium leather. There are plenty of functions like automatic start/stop function, brake energy regeneration and more. The 6.5-inch touchscreen is used for navigation and BMW apps and supports Apple CarPlay. The car comes with a panoramic sunroof. The car sits on 18-inch alloy wheels. The BMW X1 sDrive20i xLine is priced at Rs. 37.5 lakhs. (ex-showroom).
Pricing is expected to start from Rs 1 crore (ex-showroom), India as it will compete against Mercedes Benz EQC in the Indian market.
