Bounce plans to set up battery swapping stations for B2B and B2C customers in the country.

Bangalore-based Bounce is all set to launch its first electric scooter - the Bounce Infinity in the country anytime soon. India’s first smart mobility solution company has made an official announcement regarding the same. The upcoming scooter will come equipped with intelligent features and enhanced state-of-the-art equipment. The pre-booking for the new electric scooter is expected to commence soon followed by the deliveries in January 2022.

Talking about the Bounce Electric scooter, it will come with a removable lithium-ion battery. The customers can easily take the battery out and charge it at their convenience. Besides this, the customers will also get the option of ‘Battery as a service’. This means the riders can purchase the electric scooter at a highly affordable price without the battery. In such a case, they can use Bounce’s battery-swapping network. Having said this, customers purchasing the scooter without a battery will have to pay for the battery swaps whenever they exchange an empty battery with a fully-charged one from Bounce’s swapping network.

Bounce was launched in May 2018 in Bangalore by a team of three people - Varun, Vivekananda, and Anil. The aim of introducing this company was to address the need to bring ease of commuting to people across many categories, right from college students, workers to small businesses & delivery agents. Furthermore, Bounce has acquired a 100 percent stake in 22Motors in 2021 in a deal valued at about US$7 million. Under this deal, the company acquired its manufacturing plant at Bhiwadi, Rajasthan, and intellectual property. Besides this, Bounce is also planning to set up another plant in Southern India.
