It can be pre-booked at a token payment of Rs 499 in the country

Bounce has announced the launch of its first electric scooter on December 2, 2021 in the Indian market. Being christened as Bounce Infinity, it can be booked at a token payment of Rs 499 in the country. The bookings and deliveries of the electric scooter will start from early next year. Bounce Infinity will come with ‘Battery as a service’ option which is first of its kind in the Indian market while it rivals the existing lot of electric scooters in India like Ola S1, Ather 450X, TVS iQube and Bajaj Chetak.

Speaking of the ‘Battery as a service’ option, it enables a buyer to purchase the Infinity e-scooter at an affordable price without the battery and use Bounce’s extensive battery swapping network to be on the move. The customer will only have to pay for the battery swaps, whenever they exchange an empty battery with a fully-charged one from the brand’s swapping network. The company is also providing the option of purchasing this smart electric scooter along with the battery pack. Bounce Infinity will boast of a smart removable Li-ion battery, which can be removed and charged as per the requirement. The Infinity e-scooter will be locally developed at Bhiwadi, Rajasthan.

Taking the 'Make-in-India' initiative ahead, Bounce acquired 22Motors in a deal valued at about US $7 million in 2021. As part of the deal with 22Motors, it acquired its manufacturing plant at Bhiwadi, Rajasthan. The state-of-the-art production facility has a capacity to manufacture 180,000 scooters per year. Considering the potential of the Indian market, Bounce is planning to set up another plant in southern India. The brand has set aside US $100 million to be invested in the EV business over the next one year. Bounce is rapidly building a wide battery-swapping network, which will serve both its retail customers and its successful ride-sharing business.
