BS4 Cars would cease to go on sale from April 1, 2020 in the Indian market.

New stringent BS6 Emission norms are inching closer with BS4 vehicles and sales would be outlawed by 1st April 2020. With the Coronavirus epidemic hitting the Automobile manufacturers' plans to sell the BS4 stock, the Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA) has moved the Supreme Court. FADA has moved an application seeking extension of BS6 emission norms deadline from 1st April 2020 to 31st May 2020. The Indian Government is regulating implementation of BS6 emission norms from the 1st of April 2020 for all the vehicles. It will apply to both petrol as well as diesel models. That means you won’t be able to register any BS4 car or bike post the deadline and automakers are keen to clear their existing BS4 vehicles inventory. As a result, automobile brands are offering bumper offers on their various products but the discount rates vary from dealer to dealer. Below is a complete list of discounts being offered currently by the manufacturers in the country.

Hyundai BS4 Cars Discounts

Hyundai Motors India Limited (HMIL) launched the much awaited Next Generation Hyundai Creta on the 16th of March 2020 after having displayed it at the Auto Expo last month. Speculation has it that the company is all set to introduce Verna facelift somewhere in April as the dates are not yet confirmed due to the ongoing Coronavirus epidemic. The South Korean automaker has already launched the Aura sub-compact sedan in January 2020. Considering the BS6 emission deadline, Hyundai is offering heavy discounts on its outgoing BS4 models and it gives you an opportunity to buy the Hyundai vehicle you always dream of. 

Mahindra BS4 Cars Discounts

Tata BS4 Cars Discounts

Tata launched the Harrier BS6 with automatic gearbox at the Auto Expo 2020 while the Nexon facelift was priced at Rs 6.95 Lakhs. Tata Harrier is based on the Land Rover’s D8 platform as it rivals the Jeep Compass, Next Generation Hyundai Creta, Mahindra XUV500 in the Indian market. Tata Harrier BS6, top-end variant is priced at Rs 16.25 Lakhs (Ex-Showroom). While BS6 compliant Nexon Facelift is priced at Rs 6.95 Lakh (ex-showroom), it comes with a redesigned front fascia and is similar to the Nexon EV. A new bumper, diamond-cut dual-tone alloy wheels, all-new leather flat bottom steering wheel, fully digital instrument cluster comes featured in Tata Nexon Facelift. Tata HBX, Tata Gravitas are also expected to arrive later this year to the delight of the Indian customers. 

Maruti BS4 Cars Discount

Maruti has already launched Ignis, Brezza Facelift BS6 and Dzire with BS6 compliant petrol engines while deciding to do away with the diesel powertrain for the time being. Maruti Suzuki recently launched Eeco BS6 S-CNG at a price tag of Rs 4.64 lakhs (ex-showroom). It is powered by a 1.2 litre petrol engine that comes matted to a five-speed manual transmission. Maruti’s push to retain its market share is evident with slew of BS6 compliant launches even before the Auto Expo 2020 that saw introductions of the Ciaz and Ertiga before the BS6 deadline. Toyota is now partnering with Maruti to tap its low cost production strategy. 

Renault BS4 Cars Discounts

There are a slew of launches planned in 2020 from Renault with models like Triber AMT and an all-new compact SUV (HBC) expected to hit the Indian market in the coming months. Renault just launched the BS6 compliant SUV Duster on 16th of April 2020 as it competes against the likes of  Next-Gen Hyundai Creta, Nissan Terrano, Maruti S-Cross in the Indian market. Renault Captur Facelift is also said to be in the works and should be coming this year. Renault is planning to introduce an all-new 1.3-litre turbocharged petrol motor in the Renault Duster which will be introduced really soon however the diesel oil mill will not be making a mark any time soon. Though we can expect it to make a comeback towards the end of the year.

Honda is scheduled to launch the Next-Generation 2020 City in the coming days and it’s clearing the inventory of the outgoing BS4 model by offering heavy discounts. New 2020 Honda City launch was deferred due to the Coronavirus epidemic as it was spotted undisguised recently on Indian roads. The New Honda City will be powered by a BS6-compliant 120bhp 1.5-litre petrol engine. It will be competing against the likes of Maruti Ciaz, Hyundai Verna facelift, Toyota Yaris, Skoda Rapid among others. There are plenty of discounts to be picked on Honda Amaze, Jazz and CR-V with upto Rs 2 lakhs on selected models. With the BS6 deadline looming closer day by day with 1st April 2020 being the cut-off date for sale and purchase of BS4 vehicles, you can expect good discounts on BS4 Honda vehicles. 

Nissan and Datsun BS4 Cars Discounts

Datsun too is clearing its BS4 inventory with huge discounts, offers, and schemes on models like Go, Go-Plus, and Redi-Go. Datsun, the subsidiary of Nissan, is offering discounts of upto Rs 1 Lakh on models at selected dealerships in India. Datsun currently offers Redi-Go with 0.8-litre and 1.0-litre petrol powertrains. Datsun is readying the launch of a mid-cycle facelift for the Redi-Go which will be powered by BS6-compliant versions of the same 0.8 litre and 1.0 litre petrol engines. The Go is currently priced at Rs 3.75 lakh, while the Go Plus is offered in India at the base price of Rs 4.12 lakh (both prices are ex-showroom).

Toyota BS4 Cars Discounts

Japanese automaker Toyota is offering heavy discounts on BS4 vehicles like the Yaris, Etios, Etios Liva, and Corolla Altis. Toyota will discontinue the Etios, Etios Cross and the Etios Liva in the country as these models won’t be able to comply with BS6 emission norms. So, this is your best chance to buy the Etios and Etios Liva before it disappears from the Indian auto scene. Toyota have already launched BS6-compliant Fortuner in both petrol and diesel variants at no additional cost. So, buying a BS4 model from Toyota seems like a good deal considering the discounts currently on offer.. The Toyota Innova Crysta Leadership Edition based on the BS6 diesel version of the MPV is available for sale.

Skoda BS4 Cars Discounts

Skoda is offering the most discount on the diesel automatic variant of the Superb. Skoda Auto India has opened bookings for the New Skoda Karoq SUV at a token amount of Rs 50,000 as it will come via the completely built up (CBU) route. Karoq will compete against Jeep Compass, Honda CR-V and the Hyundai Tucson in the Indian market. Skoda Rapid 1.0 TSI BS6 petrol bookings were recently initiated with deliveries said to begin in April 2020

Volkswagen BS4 Cars Discounts

 If you are interested in a BS4 model, then now is the time to make the decision considering discounts available on these selected models. 2019 was a hard time for the Indian automobile industry and it’s quite possible for companies like Volkswagen to have BS4 inventories. Volkswagen has just launched the Polo and Vento BS6 models in the country as the new prices state that these introductions are pricey in comparison to the outgoing BS4 models.. 

Jeep BS4 Cars Discounts

Jeep recently updated all the Compass variants to BS6 emission standards and as a result there has been a price increase. So, if you want to purchase Jeep at a lesser price, BS4 Compass comes with a good discount of Rs 2.0 Lakhs. Jeep Compass is available in 22 variants out of which 13 are manual and 9 are automatic. It is offered in 11 colours and competes against Tata Harrier, MG Hector, Mahindra XUV500, Next Generation Hyundai Creta among others.

Ford BS4 Cars Discounts

The American automaker Ford is offering a slew of discounts on its BS4 models like Freestyle, Aspire, Ecosport, and Endeavour. Ford has replaced the older BS4 vehicles with the new BS6 compliant models before the deadline norms kick in from 1 April 2020. American Automaker has started offering discounts on their Ford BS6 models like Ford Figo, Aspire and Ecosport. Cash discount upto Rs 20,000 is being offered on BS6 models plus Ford’s own damage insurance premium at a discount rate.  

Isuzu BS4 Cars Discounts

Isuzu Motors Ltd is offering discounts around Rs 2.25 Lakh and Rs 2.50 Lakh respectively on V-Cross and MU-X BS4 models. Eye-catching discounts from Japanese manufacturers since it wants to sell the unsold BS4 stock before the BS6 emission norms kick in. The company is offering an 8-year warranty, along with 5 years of free periodic maintenance as a part of the Isuzu 5ecure package, at no additional cost to the customer. Isuzu MU-X BS4 is powered by a 3.0L four-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine churning out 174.5 bhp of maximum power output along with 380 Nm peak torque with a 5-speed automatic transmission. 

Mercedes-Benz BS4 Cars Discounts

The German luxury automaker Mercedes Benz is offering discounts on BS4 E220d and GLS Grand Edition. 
Discounts are only available on selected models at Mercedes Benz authorized dealerships in India. BS4 Mercedes Benz E220d is available at a good discount  of Rs 10 lakh while Mercedes Benz GLS Grand Edition is cheaper by Rs 20 lakh now. 

Audi BS4 Cars Discounts

Audi is clearing its BS4 inventory with huge discounts on BS4 models of A4, Q5 and Q7. 
German Automaker is offering a massive discount of Rs 7.5 Lakhs on A4 with further relief of Rs 6.0 Lakh on both Audi Q5 and Audi Q7. Audi India has already launched its two flagship vehicles – the Q8 SUV and the A8L sedan in India. Expectations are that the Q3 BS6 model could come in as a CBU with the Q5 BS6 coming in with local manufacturing.

BMW BS4 Cars Discounts

Jaguar Land Rover, the British marquee, is offering huge discounts on various BS4 models like XE, XF, XJ L 2.0, F-Pace and F-Type 2.0 Coupe R. Land Rover BS4 Cars Discounts

British Brand Land Rover is clearing its stock of BS4 models like Discovery, Discovery Sport, Range Rover Autobiography and Range Rover Evoque HSE. Discounts range from Rs 9 Lakh to Rs 20 Lakh. All variants of the MY2018 Range Rover Evoque are offered to Indian customers with retail benefits worth Rs 12 lakhs, exchange bonus of Rs 50,000 and finance incentive of Rs 25,000. The MY2019 Evoque Landmark Edition Trim and SE trim can be purchased with tons of retail benefits worth Rs 3 lakhs, exchange bonus of Rs 50,000 and finance incentive of Rs 25,000.

Volvo BS4 Cars Discounts

Volvo Cars is offering huge discounts of Rs 14 Lakh on BS4 models like Volvo XC60 and XC90. The Swedish automaker is offering a significant discount of Rs 14 lakhs on both BS4 XC60 and XC90 models. The BS6 models are priced quite similar to the outgoing BS4 cars and Volvo won’t increase prices until March 31, 2020. However there would be a price rise for BS6 models of Volvo as we have seen with other BS6 launches by different automobile companies. Volvo’s XC40 SUV is already BS6 compliant, BS6 versions of the S90 sedan, V90 Cross Country Estate, XC60, and XC90 SUVs have been in the Indian market since February 2020. All Volvo offerings except the XC90 have diesel-only powertrains so if you want a XC90 in diesel variant at a discounted price, this is the time to walk into a Volvo dealership.
