BMW G 310 siblings likely to launch soon, deliveries to begin in October this year

In partnership with TVS Motor Company, BMW Motorrad is expected to launch its BS6 compliant G 310 R and G 310 GS in the Indian market anytime soon. Pre-bookings of both the motorcycles have already begun at a token amount of Rs 50,000. Deliveries are slated to begin from October this year. As for the prices, then the BS6 models are likely to be priced Rs 30,000 less than their BS4 counterparts. Along with their cousin TVS Apache RR 310, BMW G 310 siblings will be manufactured at TVS Motor Company’s Hosur manufacturing facility.

Partially-disguised test mules of the duo have been spotted doing test runs on the road on a multiple occasions. Thus the spy shots gave us a fair idea of how the motorcycles will look. Upfront, both the bikes will get a full-LED headlamp along with LED turn indicators. The tank extension have been redesigned to make the bikes look a little muscular. Other highlighted features include the blue-lit digital instrument console and ride-by-wire throttle. Both of them ride on 17-inch 5-spoke alloy wheels. Also, the duo might get new colour schemes. Apart from these, the rest of the features have been retained from the outgoing model.

Talking about the engine specifications, then the BMW G 310 siblings are likely to be powered by the same engine that is present in The TVS Apache RR 310. The Apache RR 310 draws its power from a BS6 compliant 312.2cc liquid-cooled DOHC reverse-inclined single-cylinder engine that generates 33.5 bhp power and 27.3 Nm torque. The motor will be mated to a 6-speed gearbox via a slipper clutch. In the case of the BMW G 310 duo, power figures might remain unchanged. However, either of the bikes is likely not get the rider modes that are available in the RR 310.
