Ducati India has launched the BS6 Hypermotard 950 at a starting price of Rs 12.99 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom, India) in the country. The superbike is offered in three variants in global markets namely Standard, RVE and SP. However, the Indian market doesn't get the entry-level Standard variant while Ducati Hypermotard 950 RVE and Ducati Hypermotard 950 SP are priced at Rs 12.99 Lakhs and Rs 16.24 Lakhs (Both the prices are Ex. Showroom, India), respectively. The Italian brand has not made any mechanical changes in the Hypermotard 950, except of course the upgradation of engine to BS6 emission norms.

The Hypermotard 950 RVE flaunts “Graffiti” graphics while the design takes inspiration from urban graffiti. The standard electronics package on both the variants include Bosch ABS Cornering with Slide by Brake function, Ducati Traction Control (DTC) EVO, Ride-by-Wire throttle, Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC) EVO and Ducati Quick Shift (DQS) up/down EVO. The top-end Hypermotard 950 SP trim is based on a Bosch 6-axis inertial platform with a fuel tank capacity of 14.5 litres and double under-seat exhaust. Being a track ready machine, Ducati Hypermotard 950 boasts of Öhlins suspension setup with a 48 mm front fork and rear shock, which are both fully adjustable and guarantee a lean angle of 47°.

Mechanically, the Hypermotard 950 is powered by the latest evolution of Ducati's 937 cc Testastretta 11° BS6 compliant petrol engine which delivers power output of 112 bhp at 9000 rpm and torque performance of 96 Nm at 7250 rpm. The power and torque figures are unchanged from the preceding model. The company claims that nearly 80 percent of the torque is already available at 3000 rpm and it rises to 88 percent between 5000 and 9500 rpm. A few subtle updates have been made to the transmission such as adding load to the gear level spring in order to prevent false neutrals. Both the variants ride on Pirelli Diablo tires as standard. The RVE is slightly heavier than the SP at 200 kgs as it misses out on certain carbon fibre components.
