BS6 deadline looms closer with April 1, 2020, being the date when the sale and purchase of all BS6 models would cease in the Indian market. Hero Motocorp is well prepared for the new BS6 emission norms with launches of various BS 6 compliant bikes like the Xtreme 160R, Passion Pro BS-VI, and Glamour BS-VI. Today, it launched the BS 6 compliant Super Splendor in 2 variants - Self Drum Alloy wheel and Self Disc Alloy wheel. The Self Drum alloy variant is priced at Rs 67,300 while the Self Disc Alloy is priced at Rs 70, 800 (All prices are Ex-Showroom, Delhi.).
The new BS6 Hero Super Splendor is powered by a new 125cc PFI (Programmed Fuel Injection) engine with XSens technology. The power output has increased considerably with top power at 10.73bhp. The torque performance stands at 10.6Nm. Transmission duties are done by a new 5-speed gearbox while Hero’s innovative i3S technology turns off the engine when not needed and turns it on when you press the clutch. The ground clearance has been increased by 30mm while the 45mm longer seat gives a more comfortable ride. The BS6 compliant Hero Super Splendor gets 240mm front disc brakes and 130mm rear drum brakes with CBS (Combined Braking System) as standard. The bike rides on 90/90-18-inch rear tyre.
The Super Splendor BS-VI offers an elegant way of commuting with its dual-tone paint scheme, bold flowing lines, and distinct chrome elements. The motorcycle is available in three more colour options: Glaze Black, Heavy Grey, and Candy Blazing Red. Commenting on the Super Splendor BS-VI, Malo Le Masson, Head – Global Product Planning, Hero MotoCorp, said, “The Super Splendor has remained one of the most popular motorcycles in India and we are sure this trend will get further strengthened with the new Super Splendor BS-VI. The motorcycle has been revamped to give it a distinct identity and make it more capable than ever. With this launch, almost our entire portfolio has now migrated to the new emission regime."
