Toyota India started the country-wide booking of the BS6 Innova Crysta. Together with the Touring Sport version, the BS6 Toyota Innova Crysta is priced in an introductory price range of Rs 15.36-24.06 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom, Delhi) whereas it is available with automatic and manual transmission options in both petrol and diesel fuel trims. Bookings are open for a limited period of time at the aforementioned introductory price and customer orders are for limited numbers.
Over the last 15 years as the best-seller in the MPV category, over 9 Innova Lakh units have been sold on the Indian market to date. It has a market share of 40%, while the Japanese automaker has since its launch in 2016 retailed about 2,70 Innova Crysta Lakh units. The deliveries of the BS 6 models will begin across the country from February 2020. In the form of Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), Hill Assist Control (HAC) and Emergency Brake Signal (EBS), the company has introduced a few safety features as standard across all models.
With the implementation of BS6 Innova Crysta, the regulatory limits for the most harmful emissions of cars, i.e. Particulate matter 2.5 (PM 2.5), have become the same for all vehicles, large or small, regardless of their size and fuel types such as CNG, petrol and diesel.
Toyota's only 2.4-liter diesel engine has been updated to the BS6 emission levels while the heavier and more powerful 2.8-liter diesel engine with automatic transmission has been phased out.
Toyota Innova Crysta has relatively no direct rival on the Indian market, but it faces some competition from the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, which is placed below a segment, and from the upcoming Kia Carnival, which will be placed above a segment.
