Yamaha India has launched the BS6 compliant version of FZ 25 and FZS 25 at starting prices of Rs 1.52 Lakhs and Rs 1.57 Lakhs (Both are Ex. Showroom, Delhi), respectively, in the country. Both the models were unveiled at the 2020 Auto Expo in February earlier this year. Yamaha FZ25 BS6 deliveries will start from today itself across the company dealerships while the availability of Yamaha FZS 25 BS6 will be confirmed later. The duo will rival the likes of Suzuki Gixxer 250, Bajaj Dominar 250 and KTM 250 Duke in the Indian market.

The BS6 FZ25 will be available in two color schemes: Metallic Black and Racing Blue. However, the BS6 FZS 25 will be available in three different color options in the form of Patina Green, White-Vermillion and Dark Matt Blue. Being based on a lightweight frame and weighing 153 kgs, the FZ 25 gets attractive new features like Multi-Function Negative LCD Instrument Cluster, LED Daytime Running Lamp, Class D Bi Functional LED Headlight, Under cowling and Side Stand with Engine Cut-off Switch. As for the FZS 25, it flaunts a stylish long visor with brush guards on the handle grips while riding on golden colored alloy wheels. Both the motorcycles boast of a dual-channel ABS as standard safety feature.

Mechanically, both Yamaha FZ 25 and Yamaha FZS 25 are powered by a BS6 compliant 249cc air cooled, SOHC, 4 Stroke, single-cylinder engine which develops top power of 20bhp at 8000rpm and maximum torque of 20.1Nm at 6000rpm. The engine is linked to a 5-speed transmission, similar to the BS4 model. The telescopic front suspension and 7-step preload-adjustable monoshock rear suspension have been retained from the BS4 version. In addition, the 282mm front and 220mm rear disc brake have been carried over as well. Despite being expensive by nearly Rs 17,000 as compared to its BS4 version, Yamaha FZ 25 BS6 is the most affordable offering in its segment. Stay tuned to this page for more updates on the same!
