The Chinese EV manufacturer BYD has added a new model to its Indian electric vehicle lineup in the form of the eMax 7 MPV. In the company’s portfolio, the latest eMax 7 MPV has replaced the e6 version. The new BYD offering comes in two trims: Premium and Superior. Both new variants are available in 6-seater and 7-seater configurations. The eMax 7 MPV has received various exterior and interior upgrades with more features.
The EV manufacturer began accepting reservations for the eMAX 7 on September 21 at a price of INR 51,000. Customers who have booked the eMAX7 by October 8, 2024, and who want to accept delivery by March 25, 2025, would also receive a free 7 kW, 3 kW charger upon delivery.

BYD eMax 7 Exterior
Externally, the BYD eMax 7 comes in a new avatar where its front profile is revamped with LED headlamps, a new front bumper, and stylish LED tail lamps. BYD is offering the eMax 7 in four striking color schemes: Harbour Grey, Quartz Blue, Crystal White, and Cosmos Black. BYD’s latest EV rolls on 17-inch alloy wheels.
BYD eMax 7 Interior
On the inside, the BYD eMax 7 features various advanced amenities, such as a 12.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with the addition of wireless charging, a digital driver display, an air purifier, a panoramic sunroof, a digital instrument cluster, and more.
In terms of safety, the BYD eMax 7 features a 360-degree camera, six airbags, and a Level 2 advanced driver assistance system. Both variants also house key features like automatic adaptive cruise control, tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), traction control, ISOFIX child seat mounting points, automatic climate control, hill hold assist, etc.
BYD eMax 7 Powertrain
BYD India is offering the eMax 7 with two battery pack options: a 55.4kWh and a 71.8kWh. The eMax 7 Premium variant draws power from a 55.4kWh battery setup that delivers a certified range of up to 420 km. On the contrary, the Superior variant is packed with a bigger 71.8kWh battery, providing a claimed range of 530 km.
Moreover, the eMax 7 Superior version can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 8.6 seconds, whereas the Premium version of the MPV can acquire the same speed in 10.1 seconds. Equipped as standard with a 7kW AC charger, the eMax 7 features DC fast charging of 89kW for the Premium version and up to 115kW for the Superior. The eMax 7 can also charge external devices, and it has a vehicle-to-load capability.
The eMax 7MPV is protected by an 8-year or 1.5 lakh km motor warranty or an 8-year or 1.6 lakh km battery warranty. Currently, there are no direct rivals in the electric MPV segment under INR 30 lakh to the BYD eMax 7, but to some extent, it can be compared to the smoother Toyota Innova Hycross.
