BYD has disclosed the specification details of its YangWang U9 electric supercar. The company teased this pure electric supercar earlier in January 2023, attracting various automotive enthusiasts. The specification details of the much-awaited YangWang U9 make it clear that this supercar is much more robust than was anticipated. The supercar is available at a price of $140,000.
There are four electric motors to power the YangWang U9 EV. Each motor churns out a power output of 318 bhp. The electric propulsion system in all four e-motors generates a peak power of 1,270 bhp. The supercar weighs 2,475 kg, and it is heavier than several other supercars with internal combustion engines. The electric motors equipped in the YangWang U9 draw power from a big 100-kWh battery set that is fixed between the axles. The company's affiliate, FinDreams, manufactures the battery set that is installed in the supercar.

The auto company claims that in just 2 seconds, the YangWang U9 electric car can go up to 100 kmph from a standstill point. It comes with a top speed of 300 kmph. This EV can be drawn up to 700 km in one charge. The YangWang U9 measures 2029 mm in width, 4,966 mm in length, and 1,295 mm in height. It has a wheelbase of 2,900 mm. The McLaren Artura served as inspiration for the supercar's design language. The curvy LED headlamps and front profile look like the British car.
The electric supercar gets a Disus-X suspension system, which provides complex lateral, longitudinal, and vertical motion control via a smart hydraulic body control system, an air body control system, and a damping control system. All these intelligent systems enable the supercar to ride on three wheels, and it can also bounce up and down. The company said that although the YangWang U9 is equipped with cutting-edge technologies, it will still follow the lead of other cars offered by BYD and remain accessible by the standards of smart cars.
