Carberry is the maker of the custom Royal Enfield 1000cc V-Twin; a new bike will also follow soon.

The Carberry Enfield is a motorcycle with a 1,000cc engine, created by fusing two existing Royal Enfield 500cc engines as a V-Twin. Paul Carberry, the person who designed the engine, has tied up with Jaspreet Singh Bhatia from Bhilai, Chattisgarh and moved production here from Australia last year.

This new version fuses two 500cc blocks from the Newer Royal Enfield UCE engine, as opposed to the original Carberry Enfield.

Bookings for the Carberry engine are now open and deliveries are expected to commence within the next four to seven months. The unit makes about 53hp and 82Nm of peak torque and is priced at ₹4.96 lakh (ex-factory; freight, handling and taxes extra). For now, existing Carberry bikes that are homologated will feature the engine, but it’s not road-legal in India yet. However, the Double Barrel test mule has been fitted with this engine and is currently being tested.

The Double Barrel 1000 will be ready for production by the end of 2017 and prices will start from around ₹7 lakh.
