Citroen India is all set to reveal its C5 Aircross SUV on February 1, 2020 in the country. Ahead of the official unveiling, Citroen has rolled out the first unit of the SUV from its manufacturing facility in Thiruvallur, Tamil Nadu. It is the first product from the Citroen brand in the Indian market. It is slated to be launched in March this year. After rigorously testing the vehicle for over 2.50 lakh kilometres on different terrains in varied weather conditions across India, the brand commenced production. We can expect the starting price to be around Rs 30 lakhs (ex-showroom).

In terms of design, the upcoming C5 Aircross will feature a sleek front grille with split headlamps, large air intakes, wheel arch claddings and wraparound LED tail-lamps among many others. The SUV will come equipped with a plethora of features. These will include the unique Grip Control System with multiple drive surface options, blind-spot monitoring system, park assist, engine stop & start function, a 12.3-inch digital driver display, an 8-inch infotainment touchscreen with phone mirroring function, Apple CarPlay & Android Auto and reclinable & modular rear seats. The top-end variant will feature a foot-operated electric tailgate and a panoramic sunroof.

“We are excited to officially roll out the first Citroën C5 Aircross SUV, which will be the first of many differentiating products for India from the brand. There is a lot of market anticipation for the new Citroën C5 Aircross SUV, which will set a benchmark in style, comfort, and innovation in its segment in India. I would like to congratulate all our employees at the plants who have worked tirelessly to achieve this key milestone despite the challenges posed by the ongoing pandemic. We are looking forward to welcoming the customers to the La Maison Citroën dealership network, which means ‘the home of Citroën’  in a few weeks from now, across key cities of India,” as commented by Emmanuel Delay, Executive Vice President, Stellantis & Chairman, PCA Automobile India Pvt Ltd & PSA AVTEC Powertrain Pvt Ltd.

The Citroen C5 Aircross SUV will house a 2.0-litre diesel engine under the bonnet. The engine will generate 174 bhp power and 400 Nm peak torque while being linked to an 8-speed automatic gearbox. The SUV will feature shift-by-wire gear shifts and multiple drive modes.
