French automobile brand Citroen has teamed up with BluSmart Mobility, an e-mobility service provider, to expand its all-electric fleet and boost India’s electric vehicle landscape. The auto giant announced that it will deploy 4,000 units of the e-C3 electric vehicle to BluSmart Mobility for a period of 12 months. The e-C3 is the company’s only electric car in India, and it was first launched in February 2023.
BluSmart Mobility signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Citroen to integrate 4,000 EVs into its fleet on March 18. As part of the initial phase, Citroen and BluSmart flagged off a total of 125 e-C3 hatchbacks from the cab provider’s EV charging superhub in Bengaluru. The carmaker is expected to provide more e-C3s to the service provider in the coming days. The hatchback is available with an ARAI claimed range of up to 320 km on one charge. It comes equipped with a 29.2 kWh battery set. The unit churns out 56 bhp of power and a peak torque of 143 Nm.

The Tigor EV provides a certified range of up to 315 km on one charge, while the MG ZS EV comes with a range of 450 km without the need to recharge. The inclusion of the Citroen e-C3 hatchback in BluSmart Mobility’s fleet will aid the service provider in increasing the number of taxis specially meant for city rides.
The co-founder and CEO of BluSmart, Anmol Jaggi, said, "As more Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) embrace eMobility and our fleet size expands, we are poised to address the burgeoning demand for ride-hailing services in Indian megacities while offering riders a diverse range of advanced EVs."
In the Indian market, the e-C3 electric vehicle comes at a starting price of INR 11.61 lakh (ex-showroom), and it goes up to INR 13.50 lakh (ex-showroom). It is available in three variants: Shine, Feel, and Live. The hatchback is loaded with updated features like a rear wiper and washer, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, 15-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, a rear parking camera, and the MyCitroen Connect app, which offers 35 smart connectivity options.
