A total of 1242 bikes are affected by this recall.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has stated that Triumph is recalling the R and RS variants of the Street Triple. Bikes made in Thailand between March 19th, 2017 and January 4th, 2018 are the ones that will be affected by this recall. These bikes face an issue with the left-hand side switch cluster which can malfunction due to water seepage.

The switch cluster may not have been sealed properly during assembly, so water may enter and cause a short circuit. This defect can cause a malfunction of the headlights and turn signals, leading to a safety hazard, which is why the recall was initiated by the NHTSA. Dealers will be replacing the switch cluster free of charge and the company is currently contacting owners.

For now, the company hasn’t said anything about whether some of the bikes sold in India are affected.
