50 demo units will be made available for test drives at selected dealerships by the end of March 2021.

Hyderabad-based Pure EV has been an active player in the EV segment for a while now. The IIT Hyderabad incubated start-up has been producing electric scooters so far. The brand is now expanding its offering with its first electric motorcycle. The fully electric motorcycle named ETryst will become Pure EV’s flagship offering in the domestic market when it goes on sale with its launch scheduled for August 15, 2021. As per the statement released by the brand, 50 demo units will become available for test drives at selected dealerships by the end of March 2021.

According to the manufacturer, ETryst 350 Electric Motorcycle will first be launched in Bangalore, Hyderabad and Pune, before becoming available at other retail outlets in the country by the end of 2021. It will rival the likes of Ultraviolette F77, SVM Prana Electric, KM 3000 & KM 4000 in the Indian market. As of now, there is no word on the pricing for the bike but do expect a competitive price in order to cut into sale of ICE bikes in the country. We can expect the electric two-wheeler to be priced below Rs 1 lakh (ex-showroom), India.

As per the brand, ETryst will deliver a riding experience which will be quite comparable to most of the Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) motorbikes currently on sale. The motorcycle has an electric range of 120 kms on a single full charge. It is powered by a 3.5 KWH patented battery, developed by PURE EV at its hub in Hyderabad and can clock a top speed of 120 kmph. Further, the product has been designed to provide a very stable ride experience even at a speed of 85 kmph while delivering acceleration at par with premium ICE motorcycles.

ETryst 350 will come with a 5-year warranty on the in-house designed battery. The Hyderabad based EV manufacturer plans to expand its footprint in emerging markets like Nepal, South Asian and South-East Countries. Also, South American, and African markets would be the next step on the horizon for the Pure EV.

“With the launch of ETRYST 350, we want to make a mark in the domestic EV industry. The model will be launched at a competitive price point with respect to the premium motorcycles and we are consistently working on upgrading our after-sales service network which is the key requirement to sustain higher sales in the EV industry. We have taken multiple steps in the past few months for enhancement of the service capabilities by the invention of devices like BATRICS FARADAY which provides remote battery service capability and comprehensive technicians training programs”, commented Rohit Vadera, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer, PUREV.
