The new Nexon will see pressure on the Indian market from the likes of the revised Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza (which will soon be launched) the Ford EcoSport, the Mahindra XUV300 and the Hyundai Venue.

Tata Motors is currently in the final stages of planning for its commercial launch for the Nexon facelift. Nexon shares much of its style with the Nexon EV, which last month made its world premiere in Mumbai. Such spy shots show the Nexon facelift in its manufacturing guise for the first time.

The redesigned SUV gets heavily revised front styling, as seen on the Nexon EV, like a more square style, which includes an updated bumper, headlamps and grille. It also features a new front-bumper and bonnet configuration, reprofiled clusters of fog-lamps, a slimmer windshield (more like the Harrier's) and new headlight units full of DRLs. The Nexon facelift will not have blue accents on its exterior surfaces such as those seen on the Nexon EV. Apart from esthetics, the updates will allow the compact SUV compliant with the new pedestrian safety requirements that come into force in October 2020.

Under the hood, the updated Nexon will be offering the same 6-speed manual and 6-speed AMT gearbox options for the latest 1.2-liter turbo-petrol and 1.5-liter turbo-diesel engines.

The latest Nexon will cost a respectable premium (about Rs 50,000) over the outgoing model in terms of price, the updated BS6 engines, various sheet metal changes and more equipment. The new Nexon will see pressure on the Indian market from the likes of the revised Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza (which will soon be launched) the Ford EcoSport, the Mahindra XUV300 and the Hyundai Venue.
