At 721hp, it's the most powerful V8 Ferrari produced, so far.

This car is a more powerful, lighter variant of the 488 GTB, and Ferrari claims an impressive time of 2.85sec to 100kph. The model is powered by the most powerful V8 in Ferrari’s history – it’s a 3.9-litre twin-turbo engine that, in this car, makes 721hp and 770Nm.

The Ferrari can hit a top-speed of up to 340kph. Ferrari says the 488 Pista is “a significant step forward” from the previous special series. It’s sportier and it uses a lot of tech carried over from the company’s racing division. At 1,280kg, this car is 90kg lighter than the standard GTB. The Pista is available with 20-inch carbon-fibre wheel rims, and other parts with carbon-fibre include the engine cover, bumpers and rear spoiler.

The arrival of the 488 Pista sees it follow in the footsteps of models such as the 458 Speciale, 430 Scuderia and 360 Stradale. The car will be unveiled officially at the Geneva motor show, in March.
