The car is mechanically identical to the standard 124.

The Fiat Abarth 124 GT will be officially revealed at the Geneva motor show and will feature a removable carbon-fibre hard-top roof. The roof, when removed, has to be stored separately.

The hard-top roof adds rigidity to the car’s chassis and since it’s made of carbon-fibre, it’s quite light. The car is fitted with demisters in the rear window, insulation, and soundproofing as well.  Styling has been tweaked and this car gets exclusive parts like lightweight OZ alloys.

Performance figures remain unchanged - the car uses the same 1.4-litre turbocharged engine that puts 170hp and 249Nm, and hits 100kph in 6.8sec and a top speed of 230kph. Abarth will commence sales of the 124 GT in the UK by the end of this calendar year.
