The child seat from Maxi-Cosi is for kids aged between four months and four years.

The company has built what it calls the world’s first child seat with built-in airbags, dubbed the AxissFix Air. It was designed in collaboration with mobile airbag company, Helite.

The seat is suitable for children aged between four months and four years. The seat is fitted with two Isofix tethers, a 360-degree rotating base and two small airbags that are mounted in the shoulder pads of the seat. The airbags supposedly inflate in 0.05sec.

Tests show that it reduces chances of stress injuries to the infant’s neck and other sensitive areas by a significant 55 percent, as compared to non-airbag-equipped seats. For now, you can only get this child car seat in the UK.
