Ford India has gone for a price rejig in their Figo hatchback line-up. The Figo was facelifted by the company only last month and it remains a very attractive offering in the mid-size hatchback segment. However, in the latest rejig in the prices, the US car maker has now increased the price of the entry level variant and has cut the prices of the top model. There are other changes in the price of the entire model line-up as well. The price for the base variant has gone up by Rs. 8,000 and the top model has seen a price cut of around Rs. 39,000.
The strategy of the company regarding the model pricing of their cars remains the same, they try to attract customers to the dealerships with attractive low prices and then end up selling the higher prices models. Therefore, it is mostly the lower and mid variants that bring in the most sales numbers for the brand. Talking of the Ford Figo, the Ambiente (base model) has seen a hike in price, the top end models (Titanium) has seen a drop in prices. This trend remains the same for both the diesel as well as the petrol models. Presenting the updated price list for the facelifted model of Ford Figo mid-size hatchback.

The facelifted Figo gets styling revisions at the front and rear. The updated Figo has a grille reminiscent of the Aspire sedan, flanking the grille are new headlamps. The front and rear bumpers have been worked upon and sport sharp looks, whereas the rear lights have also been revised. The wheels too have been upgraded, and the Figo now has sporty looking 15-inch black alloy wheels.
Talking of under the hood parts, the updated car will bring in 2 new petrol engines, a 1.2-litre Dragon 3-pot engine rated for 94 PS and 120 Nm, while the other is the updated 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine rated for 123 PS-150 Nm. While the former will come paired to a 5 speed manual gearbox, the latter, more powerful engine will be offered only with a 6 speed torque converter transmission. As far as the diesel model is concerned, the 1.5 liter TDCI engine rated for 98.6 Bhp-215 Nm will continue to be offered here. This will be paired only to a 5 speed manual gearbox.
Even with the new prices Ford Figo still undercuts its rivals and with the cut in prices in the top models, the car should become even more attractive for the customers. Ford Figo locks horns with Maruti Suzuki Swift and Hyundai Grand i10 in the market.
