The facelifted car comes with changes to the engine, styling, suspension, interior and exhaust, which come together to all but transform the car for the 2018 model year.
Under the hood sits both the 5.0-litre V8 and 2.3-litre EcoBoost engines, both of which have been tweaked, with the former now making 450hp, while the 2.3-litre engine has now been downgraded to 271hp from the current car’s 317hp.
Despite the lower figures, the brand assures that performance is not affected, which is also thanks to the addition of an overboost function and Ford’s new 10-speed automatic gearbox.
On the inside, there’s a new 12-inch LCD instrument display and lots of soft-touch plastics on the centre console and doors. You also get LED lights as standard, and adaptive cruise control as well. On the outside, the company has taken the bonnet lower and has integrated air vents into it, while the redesigned grille is now a slimmer, sleeker unit. The rear features a redesigned bumper and diffuser.
There are three new paint shades as well - blue, orange and red. The car is also fitted with new 19-inch alloy wheels that are available in three finishes.
The pre-facelift Mustang is currently on sale in India and costs ₹69.08 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), and the new model is expected to make its way here in 2018.
