Google Maps has updated various features, such as EV information, Explore surroundings with Lens, New Search Engines, Map Navigation, and Immersive View for routes. The app will also offer various ways to find activities and better visualization options.
EV owners will now be able to easily navigate the nearby charging stations with the help of the new features. Detailed information regarding the charging stations will be provided to both iOS and Android users. Users can now receive various information, such as whether the charging speed is fast, medium, or slow, and their compatibility with their electric car. Users can also find out when the charger was last used, and this will prevent them from going back to the non-functional stations.

All the procurable information about EV charging stations is now available globally on Android and iOS. The developers are now receiving this information from the Google Maps Platform, which in turn will allow companies to add real-time EV charging data to their apps and websites.
Google Maps has upgraded the colors on the map to provide more details to users. Upgraded lane details will be provided by Google Maps for complex manoeuvres, to make the highway driving experience easier. In the upcoming months, these new enhancements will be introduced in 12 countries, including France, Germany, the U.S., Canada and more.
"Search with Live View" has been updated, and it is now called “Lens in Maps”. This feature is currently available in more than fifty cities, including Taipei, Las Vegas, Austin, Rome, and São Paulo. To aid the users in interpreting their surroundings, the updated “Lens in Maps” feature combines AR and AI. The users must go to the search bar, tap the lens icon, and then lift their phones to access details regarding nearby restaurants, ATMs, transit stations, stores, and coffee shops.
The ‘Immersive View for Routes" feature in Google Maps will provide an explanatory preview of the user’s journey. This feature gives users a turn-by-turn, clear-cut image of routes. Now users can see the street view before their actual visit, as this feature combines aerial images and street view with the help of artificial intelligence. On the Google Maps Platform, the developers produce their immersive experiences with the introduction of Photorealistic 3D Tiles. The ‘Immersive View for Routes’ feature was first unveiled in May, and it will be available for both iOS and Android end users in various cities, including Barcelona, Amsterdam, New York, and London.
