Harley-Davidson to Reveal Custom-built X440s at 2023 India Bike Week

Harley-Davidson India has teamed up with India’s top custom motorcycle manufacturers and will reveal various new X440S at the 2023 IBW.

Harley-Davidson India is going to unveil custom-built X440-based motorcycles at the 2023 India Bike Week (IBW). The brand revealed the X440 earlier this year. It is being manufactured in alliance with Hero MotoCorp and is Harley’s most accessible offering in India. Harley has teamed up with India’s topmost custom motorcycle manufacturers and will reveal various brand-new X440S at the 2023 IBW.

The bike maker has teased the new bikes on its social media handles. The American motorcycle manufacturer has collaborated with Rajputana Customs of Jaipur, Bombay Custom Works from Mumbai, and Old Delhi Motorcycles and TNT Motorcycles from Delhi. Rajputana Customs is going to manufacture a scrambler inspired by the Harley X440. The motorcycle will come with a different off-road look, along with knobby tyres, a lighter aluminum subframe, and extended forks. On the other hand, on the theme of an outlaw, Old Delhi Motorcycles is manufacturing its replica of the Harley-Davidson X440. The custom motorcycle manufacturer is going to unveil the Roadster with a retro look.

Bombay bespoke Works chop shop is constructing a Harley X440-based flat tracker with a exhaust, bespoke fuel tank, new dual-purpose tyres, and handlebar. The frame has been modified to accommodate a flat tracker's requirements. TNT Motorcycles is constructing a cafe racer based on the Harley-Davidson X440 with numerous customized parts. It will come with a slightly curvy bodyline, classic fat balloon tyres, and a revised frame. In addition, Harley-Davidson India is hosting the Bike Build Off, wherein finalists will customize the X440 into something unique. The builders had 50 days to give the roadster a different look.

The Harley-Davidson X440 is supported by a trellis frame that is powered by a newly built 440-cc air- and oil-cooled one-cylinder engine. The engine churns out 27.6 horsepower and a peak torque of 38 Nm. The motor is mated to a six-speed gearbox. The bike has twin shock absorbers at the back and KYB USD forks up front, while braking duties are done by disc brakes at each end with double-channel ABS. The bike rolls on 18-inch front and 17-inch back alloy wheels. The weight of the curb is 190.5 kg.

The main goal behind showcasing custom-built motorcycles is to provide customers with more personalization or customization options to adapt. Harley-Davidson India commenced deliveries of the X440 in October 2023 and delivered 25,000 units in the first go. If the customized X440s are well received, Harley-Hero may decide to put them into production.
