Hero takes Wraps Off Its Xtreme 200R

The 200cc motorcycle makes 18.4hp and 17.1Nm.

The company showed its Xtreme 200R and the bike features a 200cc engine and optional single-channel ABS. The bike will go on sale by around April 2018 and the company will announce prices closer to its launch. The company had shown a concept version of this bike at last year’s expo.

The bike’s styling is sharp, and it features dual-tone graphics. There’s an LED DRL up front and an all-LED tail-light. You also get a new digi-analogue instrument cluster. The seat has been redesigned for better ergonomics and comfort as well. This bike uses a 199.6cc engine that makes 18.4hp and 17.1Nm and is mated to a five-speed gearbox. The 200R has a claimed 0-60kph time of 4.6sec and top speed of 114kph. The company has focused specifically on this bike’s handling and stability during testing. The bike weighs 146kg and has a fuel tank that can hold 12.4 litres.

Malo le Masson, Head Global Product Planning said, “2018 will be the year of the reshaping of Hero. This reshaping is about going into segments that the brand doesn't exist and creating more excitement.”
