Hero MotoCorp Achieves GreenCo Platinum Rating

Hero Global Centre for Innovation and Technology becomes the first R&D facility to receive a green rating under the CII

Hero MotoCorp has been conferred with the prestigious ‘GreenCo Platinum’ rating for Hero Global Centre for Innovation and Technology (CIT). The honour was done by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Green Business Centre. By earning this rating, Hero Global Centre for Innovation & Technology (CIT) became the first research and development facility under the R&D category. It further becomes the only unit to receive a green rating under the CII – Rajasthan State Pollution Control Board (RSPCB) scheme. Besides these, the Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) has also awarded the centre a Platinum certification, with a score of 91 points. This further makes it the highest-rated facility in India’s manufacturing sector.

Talking about the GreenCo Platinum, it is basically awarded to the industries that demonstrate leadership and commitment towards environment conservation. The performance of green features of the companies is evaluated on the basis of 10 broad green parameters. These parameters include renewable energy, waste management, green supply chain, innovation for the environment, energy efficiency,  water conservation, product stewardship & life cycle assessment, material conservation, green infrastructure, and many others.
