The coronavirus crisis has bought the automotive industry to a standstill with many operations being temporarily suspended. As India entered the third phase of COVID’19 lockdown, Hero MotoCorp proclaimed that they have restarted their operations. More than 1500 customer touchpoints including authorized dealerships and service centers have been re-opened. The company recently announced a price hike on its two-wheeler range in India. It has updated its official website with new prices. Compared to the BS4 models, there has been an increment of Rs 750 - Rs 1300.
Hero launched the BS6 Glamour in February 2020 in two variants - Drum Brake and Disc Brake. The former was priced at Rs 68,900 while the latter was priced at Rs 72,400. Now both the variants have received a hike of Rs 850,
The BS6 Glamour is powered by a 125 cc single-cylinder engine that comes equipped with Hero’s XSens Programmed Fuel Injection for enhanced fuel efficiency and performance. The engine churns out 10.73 bhp power and 10.6 Nm torque, while mated to a 5-speed unit. It is available in 4 color options namely Sports Red, Tornado Grey, Techno Blue, and Radiant Red.
Hero Splendor iSmart is India’s first BS6 compliant motorcycle which was launched in November 2019 at Rs 64,900 (Ex-Showroom). It received a price hike of Rs 2200 in April 2020 and was available at Rs 67,100 (Ex-Showroom). Recently, Hero MotoCorp increased the price of the bike once again by Rs 800. This is the second price hike in less than a month.
The BS6 Hero Splendor iSmart is powered by an updated 113.2 cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that churns out 9 bhp power and 9.89 Nm torque. The motorcycle also comes equipped with Hero MotoCorp revolutionary i3s (Idle Stop and Start System) technology. The bike is available in 3 color options namely Blue, Red, and Grey.
Hero MotoCorp launched Passion Pro in February 2020 at the Hero World event. It is available in two variants - Drum Brake and Disc Brake. The Drum Brake variant was priced at Rs 64,900 (Ex-Showroom) and the Disc Brake variant was priced at Rs 67,190 (Ex-Showroom). Recently, both the variants received their first price hike of Rs 750.
The BS6 Hero Passion Pro is powered by a 110 cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine which produces 9.02 bhp power and 9.79 Nm torque. The engine comes equipped with Hero MotoCorp revolutionary i3s (idle start-stop system) technology and XSens Programmed Fuel Injection. It is available in 4 color options - Heavy Grey Metallic, Sports Red, Glaze Black, and Moon Yellow.
The BS6 Hero Splendor Plus was launched in February 2020. Hero MotoCorp has given this 100 cc commuter a minor price hike. It is available in 3 variants - Kick Start, Self Start, and Self Start with i3s. The Kick Start variant was priced at Rs 59,600 (Ex-Showroom) while the Self Start variant was priced at Rs 61,900 (Ex-Showroom), followed by the Self Start with i3S variant at Rs 63,110 (Ex-Showroom). All three variants got a hike of Rs 750.
The BS6 Hero Splendor+ is powered by a 97.2 cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine with a SOHC set up along with programmed fuel injection. It produces 8.02 bhp power and 8.05 Nm torque. Transmission duty is taken care of by a 4-speed unit. It is available in 4 dual-tone color options namely Black with Silver, Black with Purple, Black with Sports Red, and Heavy Grey with Green.

The BS6 version of Maestro Edge 125 was launched in February 2020. It is available in two variants - Drum Brake and Disc Brake. The Drum Brake variant was priced at Rs 67,950 (Ex-Showroom) and the Disc Brake Variant was priced at Rs 70,150 (Ex-Showroom). Hero MotoCorp hiked the prices of the scooter by Rs 1,300.
The BS6 Hero Maestro Edge uses a 124.6 cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that produces 9 bhp power and 10.4 Nm torque. It is available in 7 color options. These include Prismatic Purple, Matte Brown, Matte Techno Blue, Matte Vernier Grey, Matte Red, Pearl Fadeless White, and Panther Black.
More models built on the company’s SPA platform are slated for local assembly in the near future.
