Hero has launched the updated models of Maestro and Pleasure+ in India. The prices for updated Maestro Edge 125 start at Rs. 58,500 and the updated Pleasure+ can be had at a price of Rs. 49,300. The Maestro Edge 125 is available in 3 different models; the drum brake carbureted model of Maestro Edge 125 is priced at Rs. 58,500 while the carbureted disc brake model of the same is priced at Rs. 60,000 and finally the top fuel injected disc brake model of Maestro Edge 125 is priced at Rs. 62,700. With this, the Maestro Edge 125 becomes the first affordable scooter in India to offer a fuel injection system.
Talking of the top model of the Hero Maestro Edge 125 first, the fuel injected engine of the scooter is a 125 cc, single-cylinder unit that is rated to deliver 8.9 Bhp and 10.2 Nm. The same scooter with the carburetor produces an output of 8.5 Bhp and 10.2 Nm. The engines comes equipped with a CVT automatic gearbox. transmission. The carburetor version of the same scooter comes with Hero’s own optional start-stop hybrid system called as i3S. This works like the mild-hybrid technology seen in Maruti cars and cuts off the power supply to engine when idling and resumes it when the brake lever is depressed. The system ends up conserving a lot of fuel especially in urban traffic condition where one has to stop the scooter several times due to the high volume traffic. Apart from the scooter, the company has been offering the same system on its bikes for quite a while now. However, the brand has decided to not offer the same system on the fuel injected version of the scooter. The reason behind the move to not offer the i3S system on the more expensive fuel injection version is probably to keep the fuel injection version more affordable in the market.
Moving on to the features of the Hero Maestro Edge 125, the instrument cluster in a semi-digital format that has been seen on the bikes offered by the company as well. While the analog part takes care of the things like speed, the digital part shows fuel level and trip meter etc. The updated version also comes with a USB charging port, although it is not a fast charging outlet. The Maestro Edge also gets the same hydraulic suspension as the Maestro 110.
Talking of the Pleasure+, the refreshed version of the scooter remains unchanged mechanically and comes with a 110 cc single-cylinder petrol engine rated to deliver an output of 8.1 PS and 8.1 Nm. The refreshed model comes with aesthetic tweaks toon the scooter that is aimed at keeping the model fresh in the market. The tweaks to the aesthetic part of the scooter includes new design of the tail lamp and an overhaul of the apron part of the scooter. Hero Pleasure+ takes on the likes of Honda Activa among others in the Indian market.
