Hero Xtreme 200S fully faired launched in India.

Hero MotoCorp has been on a launch spree lately and now the latest addition to the launch list is the fully faired version of Xtreme 200R – the Hero Xtreme 200S. The latest bike is the fully faired version of the former and the price for Hero Xtreme 200S has been set at Rs. 98,500, ex-showroom. The newly launched fully faired version of the bike is priced around Rs. 8000 higher than the naked street Xtreme 200R

Talking about the features on the newly launched Hero Xtreme 200S, it has a fullu digital instrument cluster that comes with Bluetooth connectivity for smartphones, LED headlights and tail lights, and an anti-slip seat. The instrument cluster comes with turn-by-turn navigation, gear position indicator, trip meter, service reminder, caller information and message alerts, all the features on the instrument cluster as segment first and none of the rivals offer them as of now. The design of the Hero Xtreme 200S is very aggressive and stylish with black inserts at many places in the bike which further enhance the sport quotient of the Xtreme 200S.

The engine on the Hero Xtreme 200S is the same one as the Xtreme 200R and the unit featured here is a 199.6 cc single-cylinder engine rated to deliver 18.4 PS and 17.1 Nm. The air cooled engine is paired to a 5 speed manual gearbox. What is to be noted here is that Hero is not offering a fuel injected engine here, unlike the newly launched XPulse. The company has also not stated the mileage figures for the Xtreme 200S, but they may be the same as the naked street version.

At the front there are regular telescopic shock absorbers while at the rear there is mono shocker that comes with 7-step adjustment. The braking duties are handled by disc brake on both ends with the front getting a 220 mm disc and the rear a 276 mm disc, the company is offering single channel ABS as standard on the newly launched Hero Xtreme 200S.

One should take note that Hero Xtreme 200S is currently not the lone fully-faired bike in the company’s product line-up in India. Hero MotoCorp also sells Karizma ZMR in the market. For now both the bikes will be sold via dealerships, however the lack of many features on the Karizma ZMR may see the already low sales of the bike fall down to even lower levels. Not to mention that the Karizma ZMR is also priced higher in the market. However the ZMR comes with a more powerful engine that is rated for more output than the Xtreme 200S.
