Japanese manufacturer Kawasaki has introduced the Versys 1000 in the Indian market. The Versys 1000 is the company’s flagship offering in the adventure sports bike segment. The bike will be available to us via a CKD route. It will be assembled at the company’s Pune facility.
Firstly, the Versys 1000 will be available only in the standard variant and will sport a candy steel furnace orange colour. The bike comes equipped with an adjustable windscreen, twin LED headlamps and analogue-digital instrument cluster.
The tachometer is analogue and the digital LCD screen shows information like speed, gear position indicator, fuel gauge, odometer, dual trip meters, current and average fuel consumption, remaining range, bank angle, max bank angle recording function, coolant temperature, intake air temperature and clock.
This bike boasts of many electronic technologies which include electronic throttle valves (ETV), electronic cruise control, Kawasaki intelligent anti-lock brake system (KIBS), Kawasaki IMU support system and Kawasaki traction control (KTRC) with three riding modes.
Powering the bike will be a liquid-cooled, in-line four-cylinder engine. Customers can book the bike by paying Rs. 1.5 lakhs at any of the authorised Kawasaki dealerships. The ex-showroom price and specifications will be released in due course of time. The delivery of the bike is expected to commence after April 2019.
