BMW will launch the new 5-series sedan in India soon.

The car was tested out in various high-pressure situations, during which the car showed an amazing potential of damage control. The car has been built to mitigate risks as much as possible and experts also rated the function of safety and assistance systems with good result. The new 5 gets a solid rating of 81 percent, better than most of the cars on the road at the moment. In the Euro NCAP Crash test, the assistance system of the new Bimmer was able to reliably detect and respond to pedestrians ahead of the vehicle. If an adult runs into the projected roadway of the 5-series, a collision can be prevented at speeds of up to 40 or 45kph, depending on the specific situation. At up to 60 kph, the assistance system ensures that the impact speed is significantly reduced and that the pedestrian crash sequences are less severe.

Secretary general of Euro NCAP Michiel van Ratingen said, “BMW has led the way with a new 5-series that features lots of driver assistance systems which Euro NCAP believes will transform safety in the years to come.”
