The company showcased its 150cc concept café racer at this year’s Bangkok International Motor Show.

Honda Thailand revealed a new concept bike, called the 150SS Racer, at the 2017 edition of the Bangkok International Motor Show. This bike is more of a design exercise to flesh out future ideas rather than it being a direct preview of an upcoming production bike. The company has released no details about this bike, further reiterating that it’s possibly just a design exercise.

The sculpted fuel tank sits atop a massive radiator shrouds that endow the bike with a veneer of premiumness. Its café racer look is courtesy its stubby tail section, low slung handlebars (not clip-ons though) and its proper retro-style round headlamp. Honda has even used carbon fibre across the bike, from the fenders to the entire wheel discs. This concept also features two on-board cameras - one under the seat facing back and a forward-facing one under the instrument cluster. The cameras will feed images directly into the futuristic rider’s helmet, or so we think.

There’s absolutely no word on the engine, apart from the fact that it’s a 150cc single-cylinder liquid cooled unit. It’s safe to assume that a bike like this could feature a modified version of the motor from the Honda CBR 150R, which is sold in Asian markets. As a pure design study, there are no plans of making a production bike based on this 150SS Racer concept in particular.
