Honda Releases Official Accessories List for CB300R

Honda India unveils list of accessories for recently-launched CB300R naked street bike.

Honda India pleased it fans after it launched the naked street bike CB300R last month. Although the price of the bike is a bit of a sore point for the company as the new naked street from the Japanese manufacturer comes at the cost of Rs. 2.41 lakhs (ex-showroom). This figure is just shy of much powerful KTM 390 Duke. The company has now gone ahead and released the official accessories with the prices for their latest offering. Ranging from a price of Rs. 341 to Rs. 15,009, the accessories list is very expansive. As is the case with any other bike, one can go for individual upgrades or bundle them together in a kit. The accessories come in the following groups -- Premium, Protection, Sports and Standard.

Honda is giving the option of 4 kits to the customers, and the Premium kit is the least priciest kit of the lot. The entry level accessory pack comes with stylish bar-ends, brake reservoir caps, air-valve caps and other things, and the company has placed a sticker of Rs. 15,517 on the kit. The least priciest kit is aimed at giving the bike a more premium look.  Next in line is the Protection kit that includes crankcase cover, fuel lid pad, radiator guard, headlight mask and Kitaco under guard. The price for this top range kit is Rs. 35,895.

Coming to the first mid-range accessory kit, the Sports kit comes with a radiator guard, headlight mask and Kitaco short rear fender. The price for the Sports kit is Rs. 16,662. The second mid-range kit is named the Standard kit and comes with a radiator guard and the Kitaco under guard. Honda has stated that the price for Standard kit is Rs. 16,666. Honda has already made it clear that one can purchase any of the accessory kits or can go for individual accessories as well. However, the accessory kits do offer a value for money price for some accessories in the bundle.

Compare the individual prices for the accessories with the kits and the difference in pricing is pretty evident. Therefore going for a bundled kit would end up being more cost effective for customers.

The engine of Honda CB 300R has a displacement of 286cc and this liquid cooled unit now produces 31 Bhp and 27.5 Nm. This engine has been mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. The front of the naked sports has upside down forks whereas the rear comes equipped with a 7-step adjust monoshocker. As far as safety is concerned, the bike has dual channel ABS as standard and both the alloy wheels of the bole are adorned by petal disc brakes equipped with Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) to optimize the braking on the bike. Talking of the features, the bike has an all-digital instrument cluster and a full-LED headlamp setup.

As we have already stated, the Japanese company has priced the Honda CB 300R at Rs. 2.41 lakhs, ex-showroom Delhi. This has kind of discouraged the customers a bit as the bike is not in the same league as the KTM Duke 390 (another naked sport that has oodles of performance) but almost matches the Austrian bike in terms of pricing. Not just the KTM, even the homebred TVS Apache RR 310 offers comparative performance as the CB 300R, and is not only cheaper but is also fully faired.
