The much anticipated premium offering from Honda, the CB300R was launched a few days back. The Japanese motorcycle maker had announced at the time of launch that they have already received bookings for the bike for three months. Honda is selling the CB300R as a premium product through its 22 Wing World dealerships across the country.
Honda is planning to introduce more such premium motorcycles and scooters in the Indian market with this strategy in the near future. The Honda CB300R is being assembled locally via CKD kits. The bike is priced at Rs. 2.41 lakhs (ex-showroom) and is available for a booking amount of Rs. 5000/-. The deliveries of the bike will commence from next month onwards.
Powering the Honda CB300R is a 286cc, single-cylinder, 4-valve, DOHC engine that produces a maximum power output of 31.4 HP at 8500 RPM and 27.5 Nm of peak torque at 7500 RPM. This engine has been mated to a 6-speed gearbox. Honda claims 30.2 km/l of fuel efficiency with the CB300R and it has a fuel tank capacity of 10-litres.
Honda launched the Brio in 2011 and due to poor sales in recent times, the manufacturer will discontinue the product.
