Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India recently commenced the bookings for the 2020 Fireblade CBR1000RR-R and CBR1000RR-R SP. The company unveiled both these motorcycles at the EICMA Motorcycle Show last year. Now it is all set to get the bike in India via the CBU route. The deliveries of both bikes will begin towards the end of August 2020.
In terms of design, both the bikes get a sleek pair of LED headlamp that are separated by a central ram-air duct. Other design highlights include multiple air vents and a sharp-looking tail section. The new Fireblade range also gets winglets on its fairing derived from the 2018 Honda RC2013V MotoGP machine. The feature upgrades include throttle by wire, Honda selectable torque control, and Honda electronic steering damper. They also get a 5-inch color TFT display and keyless ignition.
The new Fireblade range borrows the engine and chassis technology from Honda RC213V-S. Under the frame, the motorcycles are powered by a 999.9 cc inline, four-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine. The engine delivers 214 bhp power and 113 Nm torque. Both the motorcycles get Akrapovic exhaust as standard. The Fireblade SP also comes equipped with a bi-directional quick shifter.
Braking duties in the standard CBR1000RR-R are handled by Nissin four-piston calipers with dual 330 mm discs in the front wheel. While in the case of CBR1000RR-R SP, the brakes get upgraded to Brembo Stylema four-piston radial-mount brake calipers. In terms of suspension, the standard Fireblade gets 43 mm Showa Big Piston Forks up front and a Showa BFRC-Light mono-shock towards the rear. The SP variant gets 43 mm Ohlins NPX forks in the front wheel and Ohlins TTX36 at the rear. The electronic package includes three riding modes, a Bosch six-axis IMU, launch control, ABS, and nine-mode traction control.
Both the Honda CBR1000RR-R and CBR1000RR-R SP will be offered in two color options namely an HRC inspired Grand Pix Red and Matte Pearl Black. The company has yet not revealed the price. However, we can expect the price to start from Rs 20 lakhs.
