With the launch of the new Honda CB300R, the Japanese two-wheeler maker has also announced that they will be switching to fuel injection system across all their products in India in order to meet the stringent BS6 emission norms. All the bikes having carburettor system will be replaced with fuel injection technology ahead of the implemetation of BS6 norms in India.
Honda has a total range of 24 products including motorcycles and scooters and 18 models out of these are still using carburettor technology. Some of the motorcycles use carburettor while the entire scooter range of Honda uses carburettor and none of them use fuel injection tech. Before the month of April in 2020, the Indian market will see an entire range of FI equipped bikes.
Generally, the fuel injected version of bikes are substantially expensive than their regular counterparts. Looking at this announcement, it seems that the bikes in the near future will get relatively pricey to pass the safety regulations this year and then the BS6 emission norms. It is yet to be seen how the Japanese manufacturer decides on the pricing factor of these bikes.
