The next-gen Honda City’s styling could be previewed in the Honda Design C 001 concept.

Honda has just unveiled its Design C 001 concept, a new design study, at the 2017 Qingdao Auto Show in China. The concept showcases a four-door coupe with a sleek hood, slim LED headlamps, black trim that starts from the headlamps and outlines the front bumper, and a large Honda logo at the front.

Interestingly, the lack of a radiator grille suggests the concept may be powered by an electric motor rather than an internal combustion engine. The coupe-like roof line merges into the boot quite smoothly. The length of the boot suggests that the rear glass could also open along with the boot, making it a more notchback-style boot. The Design C 001 has large LED tail-lamps that have been inspired by the current-gen Honda Civic, though in a concept-like exaggerated manner.

Even though this concept will not reach production, it previews the design route the Japanese manufacturer will be taking for its future cars.
