The new Honda hybrid car will bring back the “Insight” nameplate after four years.

The company has revealed images of its upcoming Insight hybrid car ahead of its official unveiling at the 2018 North American International Motor Show (NAIAS) in Detroit in January 2018.

Honda had earlier discontinued the nameplate from the previous generation model in 2014 in international markets. Honda is expected to launch the car in the US in 2018.

The company will use its Integrated Motor Assist hybrid system on other models as well, such as the new CR-V for European markets. The new Insight looks a lot less concept-like than its predecessor, and wears a more conventional sedan-like look. The first-gen car was introduced in 1999 internationally and competed with cars like the Prius.

Honda’s goal is to electrify at least two-thirds of its range by 2030.
