Honda will showcase HR-V facelift at GIIAS 2018

The refreshed ASEAN-spec HR-V gets new engines, transmissions and cosmetic changes.

The facelifted ASEAN-spec HR-V will be showcased at the ongoing GIIAS 2018 in Indonesia. The updated car will go on sale in the Japanese market (where it is sold as the Vezel). It will get cosmetic changes both inside and out, and two engine and transmission options.

The updated car comes with new LED headlamps, a larger grille bar, tweaked fog lamp housing, a newly contoured front bumper and new 17-inch alloy wheels on offer. The interior is mildly updated.

There are two engines on offer - a 1.5-litre petrol engine that makes 120hp and 145Nm and a 1.8-litre petrol motor that makes 139hp and 169Nm. The 1.5-litre engine is mated to a six-speed manual and a CVT automatic gearbox and it 1.8-litre engine is only offered with the CVT automatic gearbox. In Europe, it is sold with a 1.6-litre diesel engine, which will power the upcoming CR-V in India as well as the next Honda Civic sedan.

As far as safety tech is concerned, the ASEAN-spec HR-V gets six airbags, ABS with EBD and brake-assist and more. It will come with a 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which is the display for the reversing camera, paddleshifters for the CVT-equipped variants, a five-speaker audio system, a panoramic sunroof, driver’s seat height-adjust and split, folding rear seats.

Honda will bring the updated HR-V to India, albeit a tweaked version.
