Hyundai India is all set to launch the Alcazar 7-seater SUV on June 18, 2021 in the Indian market. Ahead of the official launch and price announcement, the company has commenced the dealer dispatch of the SUV as evident by the spy-shots acquired by our friends at Cars Review. Hyundai Alcazar is based on the Creta SUV while coming with an extended wheelbase to accommodate the third row of seats. It will be offered in both 6-seater and 7-seater configurations while bookings have already started at a token payment of Rs 25,000 across Hyundai dealerships and online.
Last week, the South-Korean brand had released the first official images of the interior cabin of the SUV. One can clearly see the captain seats in the second row with wireless charging and setback tables. Some of the other notable features include Bose Premium Sound System with 8 Speakers, Auto Healthy Air Purifier with AQI Display, 10.25-inch multi-display digital instrument cluster, Voice Enabled Smart Panoramic Sunroof, 64 Colors Ambient Lighting, 8-Way Adjustable Driver Seat and Hyundai Blue Link Connected-Car Technology. Hyundai Alcazar will be presented in three trim levels namely Platinum, Prestige and Signature. The flagship Signature variants will be sold exclusively via the Signature outlets only in Tier 1 cities.
Mechanically, Hyundai Alcazar will be available in both petrol and diesel fuel trims. The petrol variants will be powered by a 2.0L 4-cylinder MPi engine which generates maximum power of 157 bhp and peak torque of 192 Nm. The engine will be linked to a 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmission. On the other hand, the diesel variants will have the 1.5L turbocharged CRDi engine which belts out 113 bhp and 250 Nm. It can be availed with both 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic gearbox options. Hyundai Alcazar will take on the likes of Mahindra XUV500, Tata Safari and MG Hector Plus in the Indian market while the price could start at Rs 12 Lakh (Ex. Showroom).
