Hyundai Alcazar is offered in three grades namely Prestige, Platinum and Signature

Hyundai India has launched the Alcazar 7-seater SUV at a starting price of Rs 16.30 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom, Delhi) in the country. It has been presented in both petrol and diesel fuel trims with manual and automatic gearbox options in three grades namely Prestige, Platinum and Signature. Hyundai Alcazar will be available in both 6-seat and 7-seat configurations. The bookings for the SUV had started a few days back at a token amount of Rs 25,000 at Hyundai dealerships as well as online while it rivals Mahindra XUV500 and Tata Safari in the Indian market.

Being based on the highly-popular Hyundai Creta, the Alcazar adorns the South Korean brand's 'Sensuous Sportiness' global design philosophy. The length and wheelbase have been extended to accommodate the third row of seats. The front fascia gets a new grille with a tweaked bumper in order to distinguish it from the Creta. The SUV rides on 18-inch alloy wheels as compared to 17-inch wheels used in Creta. Hyundai Alcazar will be available in six exterior color options namely Taiga Brown, Typhoon Silver, Polar White, Titan Grey, Phantom Black and Starry Night. The cabin would boast of several industry-first features such as 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, 360-degree camera, voice-enabled panoramic sunroof and a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay & Android Auto.

Mechanically, Hyundai Alcazar has been introduced in both petrol and diesel fuel trims. The petrol variants receive a 2.0L 4-cylinder engine which is the more powerful version of the powertrain used in the Tucson and Elantra. It dishes out max power of 159 bhp and peak torque of 192 Nm. The diesel variants, on the other hand, are powered by the 1.5L CRDi engine which develops top power of 115 bhp and highest torque of 250 Nm. Both the engines come with 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmission choices. The SUV gets three drive modes in the form of Comfort, Eco and Sport. In addition, the traction control system also comes with three modes namely Sand, Snow and Mud.
