The manufacturer has listed the SUV on its official website with pre-bookings expected to start as early as mid-April 2021.

Hyundai Alcazar is expected to arrive in the Indian market later this year. Ahead of the launch, the 7-seater SUV has been spotted testing multiple times on the Indian road. As we await more information on the possible launch date, we have got news about Hyundai’s new model. Thanks to our friends at Team-BHP, we can disclose that Hyundai Alcazar is going to be unveiled in Rajasthan on April 6, 2021. The manufacturer has listed the SUV on its official website with pre-bookings that could start as early as mid-April 2021. We can expect the SUV to arrive at the dealerships by the month of May. When launched, it will rival the likes of MG Hector Plus, Tata Safari and Mahindra XUV500 in the domestic market. The upcoming Hyundai SUV will be priced in the region of Rs 11.5 lakhs- Rs 18 lakhs (ex-showroom), India.

The Alcazar is a 3-row SUV based on the same platform that also underpins the Hyundai Creta. It is expected to be sold in both 6 and 7-seat configurations. The former comes with separate captain seats for the second-row passengers. Also, the Alcazar will be slightly larger than the Creta with the rear end extended to accommodate the third row of seats. Talking about the design, it would be quite similar to the Creta selling in the domestic market. Key design differences are the revised front grille, updated bumper design, dual exhausts and front parking sensors.

The interior spy shots recently revealed a host of information about the cabin. The seats will come in a dual-tone colour scheme which will be  its biggest selling point. The SUV will also be equipped with ADAS (Advanced driver-assistance systems). Other key features will include a 10.25-inch infotainment system with support for Apple CarPlay & Android Auto, all-digital instrument cluster, automatic climate control, rear AC vents and signature Hyundai BlueLink technology.

The engine and gearbox options would roll over from the Creta. We can thus look forward to 3 powertrain variations namely a 1.5-litre petrol motor, a 1.4-litre turbo petrol engine, and a 1.5-litre turbo-diesel mill. Gearbox options will include a 6-speed manual, 7-speed DCT and 6-speed torque converter automatic transmissions. The power figures might vary from Creta as the engine is supposed to come in a different state of tune.
